Ian Nutt M0ECQ provides a not- for -profit spares service using genuine spares that were bought from the factory in the 1980s. Ian has  a range of parts: IFT’s, Mains TX’s, coils, hardware etc. etc, including a complete front end in good condition. He  also provides spares from scrap sets that come into his possession. EA12 Meter Spares

Ian has had EA12 spare meters especially manufactured to satisfy the need for these items which usually have a cracked front window. The prices are actual costs: no mark up.

Tuning Spindles.

Comprises:

* Tuning spindle in a hardened steel
* Bush assembly incl backplate and BA screws. Bush is complete with oil hole
* Pinch rollers, spring, adjusting nut and set screw

These are priced at £35.00 each plus £2.50 for P&P (actual cost of manufacture)

Please note these are precision made to close tolerance and each spindle is matched to its bush to give optimum feel.

Finger Plates

I have had a number of new fingerplates made for the EA12 and 830 receivers.  The 830 plates are suitable for all marks except the /4 (which has a tuning lock and would require the drilling of some extra holes but that should be easy if you have access to a basic workshop kit). They are as close as possible to original and should be a direct replacement.

830 Fingerplates.

The original batch of remanufactured fingerplates proved popular and have all been sold. A new batch is being manufactured and should be available in the next few weeks.

NEW 640 Scale plates are no longer available: all have been sold and there is a very low level of demand so it is unlikely more will be made.

Replacement Switch Wafers (NEW)

Ian has advised me that he has quite a sizeable stock of component parts for the switch wafers commonly used on Eddystone receivers and has the necessary tools for forming the hollow rivets used to hold the various parts in place. Ian tells me he may be able to repair other switch wafers for Eddystone users, (but he can’t guarantee it will always be possible). Ian proposes the following procedure for those interested in this service

• Interested persons should contact Ian by email ( iandcnutt@msn.com ) first and send him a photo of the wafer in question
• If it looks repairable or replaceable Ian will ask the person to send the wafer to him
• Ian  will then either make a replica from new parts or repair the old, whichever seems most appropriate, as long as this is possible from the parts he has.

Ian also have quite a few original NOS wafers in various style including for some of the more modern sets, so it is worth checking with him if you need a replacement
