I am in the process of restoring an eddy 740 that has been stored in a garage for years.
1The chassis etc is heavily stained and sort of oxidised. The main tuning capacitor needs to come out and be cleaned. I need suggestions on what to soak the vc in to remove oxidisation and grime.
Would soda crystals work?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

G’day,
I read in one of the Vintage Radio Blogs that Joe Lekostaj published in one of your journals an article on a simple Wobulator Circuit.
I am restoring a couple of AR8 Receivers and the IF’s need complete alignment.
I tried to contact Joe by e-mail, to no avail.
Would you have the details or advise where I should look.
Regards,
Barry lambert

3I dont have any contact details for Joe only that he was K9LY from Illinois. I do remember something about an article on a wobbulator but I think it was by Graeme Wormald G3GGL now sadly silent key.
Sorry

Dear Chris.
4We have had an EB35 Mark I donated and I’m looking for a “good home” for it whilst obviously wanting to secure the best value I can for the charity.
I wondered whether you had knowledge of any of your members who might be seeking one of these devices. It appears to be in good condition but it has no cables so I have no way of turning it on to test it. It’s in its original box and its serial number is 827.
There is a booklet called “Better Radio Reception” (produced by Eddystone and sold for one shilling!) but there are no manuals.
I would welcome your advice – thanks!

5I can put an advert on the For Sale for you. I reckon it would be worth between £40-£60.It would have to be described as untested. Good that it has its original box and the booklet on Better Radio Reception with it, that was how they were sold. Manuals (really Instruction leflets) are available from our website. If you can take a pic of it and e mail to my g0eyo (at) blueyonder address it would help.Regards Chris G0EYO
I worked at eddystone straight from school for about 4 years and I wanted to chase up my pension I wondered if anyone could help me to find address of whom I could contact in regards to this matter many thanks
6Sorry cant help you with that one. Chris G0EYO
7Hello,
I’ve got an 840C, but there’s no mains lead for it.
Have you got, or can you point me to a source of, the (female) plug for an 840C, please?
Thanks in Advance

9The bulgin mains plugs for these sets are very hard to find. Many people convert to an IEC socket. Sometimes the bulgins come up on E bay at about £17 each and I know of no other source. Chris G0EYO

11Send me details and a photograph where you are; contact e mail and how much you would wish for it; plus whether you would be prepared to despatch it by courier or have collection only and I will put on the for sale section of the website; alternatively put on e bay where you are likely to get best price. 840C receivers are very common so dont attract top prices.
