I have just aligned an EC10 mk 2, and have found that the band 2 mixer and RF cores need to be screwed fully out, in fact it is not possible to peak these cores. The sensitivity is way down at the bottom of band 2 as a result.
I cannot think of any fault that could cause this, and can only assume that it was a factory problem when the receiver was made. Perhaps L3 and L8 were made with too much inductance, and the factory did not want to stop production to correct the problem?
Has anyone else seen this ?

Dear Sir, are there many Eddystone All Wave 4’s about? I imagine most of them were melted down for aeroplane sheeting during the war. Could you tell me what the voltage was, please? I have one, but don’t want to blow it up.
3Peter, there is a lot of information on the All Wave Four, look in the Technical Folder on the Website. You can choose from service manuals and data sheets as well as restoration information. I am sure you will find what you are looking for there. No idea how many still around but a few as they come up for sale very occasionally on e bay.

G’day and thanks for reading this. I have recently bought an EC-10 mk 2 which is pristine condition apart from a couple of scratches on the case. It works well!
5Its serial number is 9430. is there any information – date of manufacture et seq – that can be derived from this number?
Thanks for your input

6Have a look on the website for the Quick Reference Guide (QRG) its under the folder Eddystone Sets. Download the postwar guide and in there you will see an item on decoding the serial number of Eddystone sets, hopefully this will also apply to the set but EC10’s were made in the many thousands (10,000+). Regards Chris G0EYO
