Just joined the EUG, because I’ve just acquired an 830/7 in need of a lot of TLC; s/n ET1766, one of the electrolytics says Oct 67.
Have read Gerry O’Hara’s three articles on restoring an 830/4; which are very useful; however, how do I access the references that he gives to articles the “Lighthouse”?

Thanks for the reply; without wishing to appear ‘thick’, I cannot find the EUG newsletters 1-96 under ‘Technical Information’.
3If the Technical Folder’ is elsewhere, then I cannot find it; it certainly isn’t listed under ‘Technical’.
My apologies, but more assistance required…
look along the top banner and find Eddystone Sets, click on that and you will see EUG Newsletters 1-96, click on that and you will see full list of newsletter to download plus indexes. Chris G0EYO

I am an EUG member . I have an Eddystone 1002. I had to replace the 2 X 7500Mf mains input filter capacitors. While removing the power supply to improve access one of the 4 wires from the DPDT power supply switch came adrift and I cannot see where it should go.
7Looking at the back of the switch: top R tag has a grey wire going to a mins fuse. Top L has a pink wire- the ‘problem wire’ that has come adrift at its other end. Middle L tag has a grey wire to mains transformer peg 2. Middle R tag has a pink wire going to join 3 wires in a sleeve: one to pin74, one to a 1000Mf capacitor ; the third goes to a 330R. The floating pink wire. any suggestions would be most welcome.
Antony.

9Hello and thank you for producing a very good site. I am no electronics engineer but I am very interested in short wave radio. I remember my father having a Zenith Transoceanic radio set when I was young. I used to love tuning around the dial to hear what stations I could find, fading in and out amongst the static and whistles! But recently I found an Eddystone EC10 set at a car boot sale. Was unsure of purchasing it as I had never heard of the make. My friend once had a Trio receiver and some Sony sets so I was familiar with the main brands. But the vendor was clearing up ready to go home and said I could purchase the radio for twenty pounds, with its box and some instruction booklets. I decided to take the plunge! The set is now sat in my garage. I came across your site after just entering Eddystone Radio into my search engine. I understand that my radio, while being quite common is an excellent introduction to short wave listening. I want to have a good tune around, just like I did as a child in 1974! But thank you for producing a very informative site, I know it takes many hours to keep a website up to date. So one day I shall power up my Eddystone and have some fun.
10Thank you Symon, sounds like you got a nice little radio at a good price. Enjoy it, there is a lot of information about it on the website. Chris G0EYO
