Hi cant’ find out how to search your website for specific models/problems. I have a EC10 mk1 which I am restoring I have changed the electrolitics & changed the OC171′ s for equivelents & it is working but here is a loud hissing from the speaker even when the volume is turned all the way down & i cant find the reason all the transistor voltages seem OK any hints or tips to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks David

Thanks to this website I have just had a most enjoyable hour reading the Cooke Report. I worked under Dick Carrol when he was at Marconi Microelectronics and I was in the Applications group. When he moved to Eddystone he decided that the active filters using these new fangled op amps had a place in a new panoramic receiver, As a result I had many trips to Eddystone from Witham where I had the pleasure of working with Bill.

I use the word pleasure, since as a young engineer (then) , just noting the comments from Bill were in themselves quite an education. Sadly when Marconi Microeletronics folded , in company with two other Marconi engineers we set up our own company in Gloucestershire, where .as well as continuing with the panoramic work, our company did a large amount of sub contact work building the EC10.
