I’ve just visited the site for the first time in ages, I must say I like the new format. I am very sorry to read about the passing of Mr Wormald. I wrote to him a few times when I was in the EUG and he always wrote back in that kind and witty style he had. RIP. I’m still enjoying shortwave via my 840C and EC10 Mk1. 73’s all.

Chris, Thanks for the very informative contact, last year whilst I was “hanging out” in the Lake District. I would like to add my sadness at the passing of Graeme, John and Ted. Their work was greatly appreciated.
    Best Regards,
    Bob

  5. Hello, I have a Eddystone radio which I have not been able to find any information on.
It’s similar to the MPT No.31A set, but has the part number 34A. It’s frequency range is
    490 MHz – 890MHz.
    Any thoughts?

    Cheers, Mike

      Hi Mike
The Measuring Set 34A is the UHF version of the 31A and also designed by the Post Office but was actually made by Hatfield Instruments under licence not Eddystone Radio. This has been a long running misconception due to the fact that it was reasonable to assume that both were made and designed by Eddystone.

      • Good afternoon Chris, Many thanks for your info, I’ll see what I can find on the net.
I’ve had these two receivers for some time now and not done anything with them,
so it’s off to eBay and see what they’ll fetch.
Oh, congratulation on a intelligent web site.

        Cheers, Mike

Hi I am Chris G0EYO, the EUG Webmaster. I hope you like the new format of this popular website devoted to Eddystone Receivers. It is basically the same content but in a new format using WordPress which is more browser friendly and compatible than the old Expression Web software we used before. I hope to make it a bit more current with items of news and of course this comment page is a useful way to ask questions or seek help. Happy browsing!
