    Greetings All, I have just put on the bench an Eddystone 888A s/n HL 0403. It hasn`t been powered up for at least 10-15 years. Any tips or things to look for? I know that a lot of the caps will need replacing etc.
    I do have the ccts etc, though its still in the cabinet. Just finished restoring a Heathkit MT1 transmitter. I`ve been in the industry about 50 years & now retired.

    Is it possible to get some service information on the1650/2/A RX.
    I’ve just picked up a non working unit in a sk sale and trying to get it back up and running.
    Service and operating manuals would be a great help and any the specification of this series if available.

      Chris, I dont have a copy of the service manual for the 1650/2 version. It might be worth contacting Ian Nutt who does the Eddystone spares. iandcnutt@msn.com he has printed versions of some of the manuals and may be able to help.

    I put a pair of 830 receivers into operation several years ago. I really enjoyed those radios. They were very nice and were excellent for SWL.

    I now have acquired a good looking 680X and rather than tear it up searching for the secret for removing the chassis from the cabinet, I thought I should ask someone who knows. I took the 4 screws out of the back corners of the cabinet. What do I need to do to allow the chassis to slide forward out of the cabinet?

      Have a look in the Techincal/Restoration section of the web site where there is an article on restoring the 680X. I think the answer is place front down on its handles, remove rear knurled nut screws? and gently separate case from chassis using carefully placed screwdriver.
